These Story Submission Terms apply whenever you submit a story, personal experience, photograph, document, message, audio recording, video, or other material to Everyday Life Tales, available at https://everydaylifetales.com.

By submitting content, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Story Submission Terms, our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer.

1. Eligibility to Submit

You must be at least 18 years old to submit a story independently.

If you are under 18, your submission must be made with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

By submitting content, you confirm that you have the legal authority and capacity to agree to these terms.

2. Types of Content You May Submit

You may submit:

  • Personal life stories
  • Family experiences
  • Relationship experiences
  • Stories of hardship or recovery
  • Career or financial experiences
  • Inspirational or emotional experiences
  • Photographs or supporting materials
  • Other real-life experiences relevant to Everyday Life Tales

Submission does not guarantee publication.

We may accept, reject, delay, edit, or remove a submission at our discretion.

3. Truthfulness and Accuracy

By submitting a story, you confirm that:

  • The story is truthful to the best of your knowledge.
  • You have not intentionally included materially false or misleading information.
  • Opinions and personal interpretations are clearly presented as your own perspective.
  • You have not knowingly fabricated accusations against another person.
  • You will provide clarification where reasonably requested.

Personal memories may naturally differ between individuals, but you must not intentionally submit false statements.

4. Your Ownership

You retain ownership of the original content that you create and submit.

Submitting your story does not transfer full ownership of your copyright to Everyday Life Tales.

Original written stories and other original creative works may receive copyright protection once created and fixed in a tangible form.

5. Licence Granted to Everyday Life Tales

By submitting content, you grant Everyday Life Tales a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable licence to:

  • Store and review your submission
  • Edit, rewrite, shorten, expand, translate, summarize, or format it
  • Publish it on EverydayLifeTales.com
  • Reproduce and distribute it
  • Create excerpts, headlines, captions, or promotional materials
  • Publish it through newsletters
  • Share or promote it on social-media platforms
  • Adapt it into audio, video, podcast, slideshow, or other media
  • Include it in digital or printed collections
  • Use it to promote Everyday Life Tales

This licence is granted without additional payment unless we separately agree otherwise in writing.

The licence does not prevent you from publishing or using your own story elsewhere.

6. Editorial Changes

We may edit your submission for:

  • Spelling and grammar
  • Readability and structure
  • Length
  • Translation
  • Headline creation
  • Removal of repetition
  • Website formatting
  • Privacy protection
  • Legal and safety concerns
  • Removal of identifying information
  • Content warnings
  • Search-engine presentation
  • Social-media adaptation

We will make reasonable efforts to preserve the central meaning of your story.

However, you acknowledge that the published version may not be identical to the version originally submitted.

7. Names, Pseudonyms and Anonymity

You may request publication using:

  • Your real name
  • A pseudonym
  • First name only
  • Anonymous attribution

Where anonymity is requested, we may change or remove:

  • Names
  • Locations
  • Occupations
  • Ages
  • Dates
  • Family relationships
  • Photographs
  • Other identifying details

We will make reasonable efforts to protect your identity, but absolute anonymity cannot be guaranteed if the story itself contains details that allow others to recognize you.

8. Personal Information

Do not submit highly sensitive information unless it is essential and you understand the risks.

This includes:

  • Passwords
  • Bank-account or payment information
  • Government identification numbers
  • Passport or identity-card copies
  • Exact home addresses
  • Private medical records
  • Private phone numbers
  • Information that could expose someone to danger

We may remove such information without notice.

9. Stories About Other People

If your story contains information about another person, you confirm that:

  • The information is relevant to the story.
  • You are not intentionally violating that person’s privacy.
  • You are not submitting knowingly false or defamatory accusations.
  • You have obtained permission for private photographs, messages, recordings, or documents where permission is required.
  • You understand that we may anonymize or remove identifying information.

We may decline to publish stories involving identifiable third parties, especially where serious allegations cannot be responsibly verified.

10. Photographs, Audio and Other Materials

By submitting photographs, screenshots, recordings, videos, messages, or documents, you confirm that:

  • You created the material; or
  • You own the necessary rights; or
  • You have obtained permission from the owner and identifiable people shown.

You must not submit copyrighted material copied from another website, photographer, writer, filmmaker, social-media account, or publisher without authorization.

11. Prohibited Submissions

You must not submit content that:

  • Is unlawful
  • Is knowingly false or defamatory
  • Infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights
  • Contains threats or targeted harassment
  • Promotes hatred or discrimination
  • Exploits or sexualizes minors
  • Reveals another person’s highly sensitive private information
  • Encourages violence, criminal conduct, or dangerous behavior
  • Contains malware, phishing links, or spam
  • Impersonates another person
  • Is submitted mainly as unauthorized advertising
  • Was generated or copied from another source and falsely presented as your own experience

We may report serious threats, exploitation, fraud, or unlawful activity to appropriate authorities where legally required or reasonably necessary for safety.

12. Artificial Intelligence and Assisted Writing

You must disclose whether your submission was substantially generated, rewritten, or fabricated using artificial intelligence.

Using AI to improve spelling, grammar, translation, or readability is permitted, provided the underlying life experience is genuine.

You must not use AI to invent a supposedly true personal experience, false quotation, fabricated evidence, or accusation against a real person.

We may use editorial or AI-assisted tools to help with grammar, translation, formatting, summaries, or headlines, while applying human review where appropriate.

13. No Payment or Compensation

Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise:

  • Submissions are voluntary.
  • Contributors will not receive payment.
  • Publication does not create an employment, partnership, agency, or freelance relationship.
  • Contributors are not entitled to advertising revenue, royalties, or other compensation.

Any paid submission arrangement must be confirmed separately in writing.

14. Publication Is Not Guaranteed

We may decide not to publish a submission for any reason, including:

  • Lack of relevance
  • Insufficient information
  • Privacy concerns
  • Legal concerns
  • Safety concerns
  • Unverifiable allegations
  • Poor quality or duplication
  • Editorial scheduling
  • Incompatibility with our standards

We are not required to explain every editorial decision.

15. Removal or Correction Requests

You may contact us to request:

  • Correction of factual errors
  • Additional anonymization
  • Change of attribution
  • Removal of sensitive information
  • Removal of the published story

We will review each request in good faith, but removal is not automatically guaranteed.

Even after removal from our website, copies may remain in:

  • Search-engine caches
  • Web archives
  • Social-media shares
  • Screenshots
  • Newsletters
  • Third-party services outside our control

16. Withdrawal Before Publication

You may withdraw your submission before publication by contacting us promptly.

Once a story has been published, distributed, adapted, scheduled, printed, or shared with third-party platforms, complete withdrawal may not always be possible.

17. Contributor Responsibility

You remain responsible for the content you submit.

You agree to cooperate if we receive a legitimate complaint or request clarification regarding:

  • Accuracy
  • Ownership
  • Permission
  • Privacy
  • Copyright
  • Defamation
  • Safety

You may be responsible for losses or reasonable costs resulting from content you knowingly submitted unlawfully, subject to applicable law.

18. Editorial Disclosure

We may add an editorial note stating that:

  • Names or identifying details were changed
  • The story was edited for length or clarity
  • The story reflects the contributor’s personal perspective
  • Certain details could not be independently verified
  • The story contains sensitive material

Such disclosures help readers understand how the story was prepared.

19. Promotion and Social Media

We may use parts of a published story—including its title, excerpt, image, quotation, or summary—to promote the story through:

  • Facebook
  • YouTube
  • TikTok
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest
  • Email newsletters
  • Search engines
  • Other Everyday Life Tales channels

We may adjust formatting to fit the platform while attempting not to materially misrepresent your story.

20. Sponsored or Commercial Submissions

You must disclose if your submission:

  • Promotes a business, service, product, organization, or campaign
  • Was submitted on behalf of another party
  • Includes a paid recommendation
  • Was created in exchange for money, gifts, discounts, or benefits

Everyday Life Tales may reject, label, or treat such content as advertising or sponsored content.

Material relationships associated with endorsements should be clearly disclosed so readers understand when compensation or other benefits are involved.

21. Privacy and Data Processing

Information submitted through our forms may be processed for:

  • Reviewing your submission
  • Contacting you
  • Verifying information
  • Editing and publication
  • Preventing abuse or spam
  • Responding to legal or safety concerns
